WAYS TO GIVE AT PLEASANT VALLEY
For your convenience, there are several ways to give to Pleasant Valley. While each may have its own advantages and/or disadvantages, they each allow for God's work to be done as you are faithful to His calling
to give back.
Everything we do at Pleasant Valley happens because of the support of our members, attenders, and friends. Without their continued support, in the form of tithes and offerings, it would be impossible to provide the ministries that are touching and changing peoples’ lives every day.
If you’re new to Pleasant Valley or are just checking us out, we consider you our guest; we don't want you to feel obligated to give, in any way. But for those who consider Pleasant Valley their church home or who otherwise want to honor God through our ministry, the following means are available for you:
WORSHIP SERVICES
Tithes and offerings are received during our Sunday Worship Service and most special services. If your gift is provided in the form of a check or in a completed offering envelope, your donation will be recorded and a tax receipt will be provided at least yearly.
ONLINE via YOUR BANK'S ONLINE BILL PAY SERVICE
Currently most banks now offer an online bill payment service; this
provides one of the easiest and most effective way to automate
your giving. Simply setup an automatic (or one time) payment to
Pleasant Valley. Once it is setup, you're still in control; you may update or change your giving
at any time. Plus,
100% of your gift goes to the ministries of Pleasant Valley because there
are no processing fees.
ONLINE via PAYPAL
Pleasant Valley is offering online giving via PayPal as a way to make online tithes, offerings and donations via credit card or direct electronic funds transfer from your checking account.
NOTE: You DO NOT NEED to create a PayPal Account to use this
option.
While we allow the use of
credit cards for tithes and offerings, we still
strongly encourage the use of your bank's online bill pay service
rather than credit card for two primary reasons:
- Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many also do not. We do not want to encourage someone to go into debt and pay interest on gifts given to the church.
- When giving through your bank's online bill payment service, your entire gift goes to the church. When giving via PayPal, a portion of you donation (approximately 3%) will be deducted as a service fee resulting in a smaller net donation.
If you choose to make a PayPal contribution, the personal information requested will remain private and not be sold or given away to third parties. Pleasant Valley will use the information you submit only for the purpose of processing your payment and providing required tax records. Your privacy in these matters is greatly respected.
US MAIL
Donations to Pleasant Valley can be mailed to the church office at any time.
There are several benefits to online giving for both you and our church. Some of them are. . .
- Faithfully Honoring God - When you give online through your banks online bill payer service, you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. God always blesses that kind of faith! The Bible teaches that we are to honor God with the “First Fruits” of our labor (Proverbs 3:9). By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your First Fruits are faithfully given back to God.
- Simplicity - You won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or send in an offering by mail when you’re on a trip.
- Security – Online giving, through your bank or through PayPal utilizes an encrypted secure website for your online records. Online giving is more secure than giving with a check or cash because an electronic gift can’t be lost or stolen.
- Focus – Instead of having to worry about writing a check and filling out an envelope during the service, you can be fully focused on the worship service, knowing that you have already given your offering.
- Helping Pleasant Valley – Online giving is more cost effective for our church to process, and it makes our record keeping much easier.
TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Financial giving at Pleasant Valley can generally be divided into two categories: tithes and offerings. The Bible teaches us that we worship the Lord with our tithe, which is ten percent of our income contributed to the church on a regular basis. You can learn more about tithes here. When we feel called to give over and above our tithe, we do so as an offering.
STEWARDSHIP
The ministry of Pleasant Valley is funded by God's provision through the
tithes and offerings of faithful Pleasant Valley members and attenders.
At Pleasant Valley we honor God's provision by exercising wise and faithful
stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the
financial integrity of Pleasant Valley remains beyond reproach.
